Kim Koditek and Erin Miller of Hokie Nation, one of the
eight teams competing in the 2014 Semi-Annual Video Field Days, became the
dominating player by four wins after letting Transylvania – the only team of
three – leading the first two events. Advanced Multimedia Reporting Professor Derley
Aguilar, host of the much anticipated competition, revealed the success behind
the winning team, “It is the small details that matter, my friend.”
The competition is held in Room #157, Moss Art Center on September
17, 2014 as part of the course to help students “understand how to take care of
and use the equipment.” Students were challenged with tasks involved with
setting up the camera and adjusting several functions. Alex Marinello, winner
of the first Orange event said that she “was really nervous going into it” but
later added that she “started to focus on what needed to be done, and not
worrying about the stress.”
